Woodlawn is an independent, nonprofit school founded in 2002 and located just north of Davidson, North Carolina.  Our mission is to produce independent, lifelong learners who are responsible, contributing members of a diverse global society.

The Woodlawn Kitchen is being debuted both on campus and in cyberspace during the 2010-11 school year. Physically, the Woodlawn Kitchen is housed in a brand new building, the Lodge, on our beautiful 61-acre campus. It will be the home of two home cooking courses, Desserts at Home and Cooking at Home, taught by home cook and food blogger Julie Ruble of Willow Bird Baking. The courses are designed to use recipe preparation to introduce students to various cooking techniques and build kitchen confidence.

Virtually, the Woodlawn Kitchen is a student-run blog documenting our fun! Each week, students update the blog with photos of our work, discussion about the dishes we created, and a description of the skills we’ve been learning. Check in often to see what we’re cookin’ and cheer on our amazing student chefs.
